Since 2008, Yuva Yug Parivartan Sangathan (Y.Y.P) has served Sihor through blood donation camps, gau seva, bird and tree protection, food and relief for the needy, and programmes that build character in children and youth. Pick an activity to see what we do, photos and press coverage.
Y.Y.P members regularly reach families in Sihor's slum areas and people in need with food packets and cooked meals. Even a simple celebration, like a birthday, becomes a chance to share snacks and a meal with children.
Gau Mata Seva Yagna is Y.Y.P's service to cows. Members take green fodder to herds of cows and feed them, as a regular act of seva.
Y.Y.P remembers India's great figures and revolutionaries on their birth anniversaries and martyrdom days, with tributes, cleaning of statues and public programmes in Sihor.
Rashtra Pratham, 'India First', is the thought behind everything Y.Y.P does. Through seminars and gatherings the organisation works to awaken national spirit among young people in Sihor.
To help animals through the summer heat, Y.Y.P places drinking-water tanks for them across Sihor (pashu parab) and arranges fodder.
Y.Y.P cares for the birds and the green cover of Sihor: bird feed and water pots, nests for sparrows, tree plantation every monsoon and seed-ball distribution.
Y.Y.P organises mega blood donation camps in Sihor, on Martyrs' Day and in memory of late Rajendrasinh Chavda, with many young donors coming forward.
Y.Y.P holds guidance seminars to keep young people away from addiction and to point them towards a healthy, purposeful life.
During summer vacation Y.Y.P runs camps for children with games and activities, together with schools in Sihor.
Every summer vacation Y.Y.P holds a free karate camp for girls, to build self-defence skills, fitness and confidence.
Before Navratri Y.Y.P runs garba classes exclusively for women and girls, and holds garba nights for them.
Y.Y.P performs Bharat Mata Pujan as a mark of devotion to the motherland. Bharat Mata is also the figure at the centre of Y.Y.P's emblem.
When disasters strike, Y.Y.P members step forward with relief material and shramdaan (voluntary labour).
During board exams Y.Y.P members meet students with good-luck wishes and a small sweet gift, to give them confidence on their big day.
Y.Y.P conducts cultural tests (Sanskrutik Kasoti) and competitions for students, to encourage knowledge of Indian culture and values.
Every August, around Y.Y.P's foundation day, an open essay competition is held for students of every school in Sihor.
Y.Y.P holds seminars for parents on child-rearing and garbh sanskar, the idea of giving good values to a child even before birth.
Y.Y.P takes part in and organises activities that strengthen national feeling among the people of Sihor.
The Swadeshi campaign encourages young people to use Indian-made goods and to value self-reliance.
Y.Y.P members take up cleanliness drives in gardens and public places, wearing gloves and masks and filling sacks with dry leaves and litter.
In processions like Rath Yatra and Shobha Yatra, Y.Y.P members distribute prasad and cool sweet water (sarbat) to devotees.
